While you have to wait until level four to get Rupture Tendons, characters who specialize in Polymorph skills can pick up Chicken Claw from Doctor Leste in Fort Joy at any time (Shadowblade and Metamorph classes start with Chicken Claw, and can pick up Rupture Tendons later with two points in Scoundrel). The first method is called the Chicken Combo. Normally you'd use it on an enemy and hope they'll take a step or two after, but some clever players have found a way to make Rupture Tendons deal incredible amounts of damage. Once an enemy is hit with Rupture Tendons, every step they take causes additional piercing damage. It's a Scoundrel skill purchased from Hilde in Fort Joy once you reach level four. I tried it again by stealing something in another room and getting caught by a servant, and it worked as well. Then when I speak to Ryker, he actually welcomes me as a visitor instead of accusing me of attacking him. This time I accidentally clicked on Ryker's desk, which causes a stealing warning. I thought maybe I hit him on accident, so I reloaded. He continues to say the same thing every time I speak to him after that as well (after accepting his quest), and I can just choose to stay my weapon or continue attacking. I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd add that the same thing happened to me when I spoke to him the first time.
